Star Cinema shows eight films a year from September to April on a Friday evening at Adastra Hall, Hassocks.

Run by volunteers it’s a great opportunity to make new friends in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and see a carefully chosen and often recently released film.

Doors open at 7pm and the film starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost just £5 per person on the door, cash or card, and as well as serving tea, coffee, hot chocolate and wine, we also run a popular raffle.

The inspirational story of Mercedes Gleitz who in 1927 became the first British woman to swim the English Channel, overcoming both the cold waters of the Channel and the oppressive society of 1920s England.
