ROUTE 2 - Blackcap and The Downs - Age 11 - 16, competent ability

Route

Meeting near rain garden and main car park.

Adastra Park - Ditchling - Plumpton - East Chiltington - South Downs Way - climb up to Blackcap - Ditchling Beacon - Jack and Jill - Adastra Park. (There may be some deviation from this route.) We will stop for refreshments and points of interest.

WHAT TO BRING

Roadworthy bike / helmet / packed lunch or meal / water or refreshing drink/ clothing suitable for  light rain and / or muddy tracks.

No Bike? You can hire a suitable bike in the morning from Community Cycle Hire next to the Station.

PAYMENT

Please note that if you select ‘Manual Payment’, the options to ‘Pay on the day’ and ‘Pay by Standing Order’ ARE NOT options we can accommodate for this event.

You may however choose the Bank Transfer option if you wish.

NEED TO KNOW:

An experienced adult will accompany the leader on all rides to help keep children as safe as possible. 8 will be maximum no. of children.

The leader has an enhanced DBS* check and is a qualified mountain bike leader and bike ability instructor.

The accompanying adult rider also has the appropriate DBS check.

Rides will go ahead subject to situation with Covid and dry weather in previous 24 hours.

*Enhanced DBS is a complete criminal history check on a person that shows if s/he is on the barred list for supervising children during leisure or other activities.
